About Lisa Shalett

Lisa Shalett is a retired Goldman Sachs Partner, who now advises and invests in early stage companies and serves on public and private company boards. Over her 20-year Goldman career, Lisa held senior leadership roles in 5 divisions, worked in 2 regions, led revenue-producing and revenue-supporting businesses, managed global P&Ls and important client relationships, and helped transform the way Goldman communicates with its key stakeholders. Most recently, Lisa was Global Head of Brand Marketing & Digital Strategy in the Executive Office, managing Goldman’s brand during the financial crisis, as a change agent and innovator. Prior to that, she was Global COO of Compliance, Legal and Internal Audit, and before that led International Equities sales and trading, leveraging her Japan background. She currently serves on the boards of Brookfield Property Partners (NYSE: BPY) and PerformLine, the leading marketing compliance SaaS platform. For 12 months she “failed” retirement and and joined the executive team at Odyssey, an explosively-growing millennials-focused media platform, as CMO and Advisor, working for its 28-year-old CEO and getting startup experience firsthand.

Lisa focuses on using her considerable, diverse business expertise and operational experience to help startups and non-profit organizations run well, and help large organizations stay innovative. She is known for (and enjoys) connecting people, building brands, and being a sounding board and creative thought partner on issues relating to business models, strategy, digital transformation, leadership, and talent.

Lisa earned her MBA from Harvard Business School, and BA, summa cum laude, in East Asian Studies from Harvard University.

A dynamic panel of senior level executives will be brought together to deliver the keynote breakfast panel discussion. Moderated by McKinsey & Company’s Partner of Marketing and Sales Practice, David Edelman, this panel will set the tone for Day 2 of the Digital FSI Transformation Assembly!

The keynote panel, “Digital Transformation,” will dive into how businesses around the world are presently engaged in rethinking their marketing, products, and operating models to adapt to changing technologies, media, and customer behavior.

In financial services, he has worked across many lines of business, including credit cards, retail banking, institutional banking, and retirement products.

One of the early leaders of Digitas, a market-leading digital agency, David built the strategy and analytics team, which worked alongside the agency’s creative and technology teams on implementation of large scale digital advertising and web e-commerce programs. Before that, as a partner with The Boston Consulting Group, he pioneered early work at the intersection of marketing and database technology, developing their “Segment of One Marketing” strategy service line, and was a leader in developing their e-commerce practice.

A frequent contributor to leading publications, and a Top 5 LinkedIn Influencer, David has also spoken or participated in panels at many top CMO and industry gatherings. He also sits on the advisory boards of a couple of small agencies and startups in the social and video markets.
