About Nathan Tierney

Nathan Tierney is a purpose-driven leader, author, and retired U.S. Army Warrant Officer whose career spans military service, healthcare transformation, and public service. A former Navy Rescue Swimmer and Apache pilot with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, Nathan has led large-scale technology and change initiatives impacting tens of thousands of people.

Formally served as Deputy Chief Information Officer and Chief People Officer at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, he is deeply committed to improving outcomes for veterans through values-based leadership and operational excellence. He is also an accomplished author and the creator of the children’s comic Bash the Brave, inspired by his son’s journey with Type 1 diabetes
