The U.S. nursing cliff is quickly approaching, and in order to continue to provide the high-quality healthcare the U.S. has pioneered for decades, change is needed. To address this challenge, we need a layered approach, and no one thing will be the magic bullet that solves the nursing shortage. And it won’t happen overnight. Two important ways to address this issue are to build a pipeline early for talent for the field and to enable the nurses who are in the profession today through technology – technology to make their workflows more efficient, more automated and more secure by providing a safety net for human error.
