About Craig Richardville:

His responsibilities include leading all aspects of the health system’s information technology strategy and operations, including enterprise systems and applications, information security, core infrastructure and leading the system’s digital transformation and information automation. Previously, he served as owner and president of Richardville Consulting LLC, delivering resource, advisory and brokerage services for innovative start-up software and services companies. Prior to that, he served as Senior Vice President & Chief Information and Analytics Officer at Carolinas HealthCare System (Atrium Health) for more than 20 years where he transformed the company into a national leader in the effective use of technology, utilizing data as a driver; analytics and business intelligence; artificial intelligence, machine learning and robotic process automation. His notable accomplishments include receiving the 2015 John E. Gall, Jr. CIO of the Year award from the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) and HIMSS in recognition of his leadership in driving digital transformation in healthcare and the 2017 CIO of the Year award for “Leadership” presented by Charlotte CIO for his impact on the technology industry across all verticals. Craig earned his master’s degree in business administration and also his bachelor’s degree in business administration from University of Toledo.

About Steve Allen:

Steve Allen, MD, MBA, is the recently retired CEO of Nationwide Children’s Hospital, a preeminent academic medical system in Columbus, Ohio. When he joined Nationwide Children’s in 2006, the hospital was known as an important regional health care center. By the time of his retirement in July of 2019, Nationwide Children’s had become one of the country’s most respected and innovative pediatric institutions with over $2.4 billion a year in revenue. It now consistently appears on U.S. News and World Report Honor Roll list of America’s top 10 children’s hospitals, and its Abigail Wexner Research Institute is one of the National Institutes of Health’s top-funded freestanding pediatric research facilities. Dr. Allen oversaw a period of unprecedented growth and transformation in Nationwide Children’s size, scope, and vision. Through his unique perspective, redefining the role of a modern healthcare organization, Dr. Allen built a team and culture that has been recognized as a role model for innovation
and collaboration.

In the process, he has become one of the most prominent voices in American pediatric health care strategy and policy. His advocacy in Washington D.C. and his opinion columns in The Hill, U.S. News, and World Report and other publications provided a messaging template for other health care executives to follow.

Outside of his executive leadership, Dr. Allen is board certified in Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine and is the author of nearly 150 medical journal articles, reviews, and book chapters.

Joanne Waldstreicher, M.D., Chief Medical Officer, Johnson & Johnson to Keynote Patient Experience Transformation Assembly

About Joanne Waldstreicher:

Joanne Waldstreicher, M.D., is Chief Medical Officer, Johnson & Johnson. In this role, she has oversight across pharmaceuticals, devices and consumer products for safety, epidemiology, clinical and regulatory operations transformation, collaborations on ethical science, and technology and R&D policies, including those related to clinical trial transparency and compassionate access. She chairs the R&D Development Pipeline Review Committee for The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson, and supports the Medical Devices and Consumer Development Committees. Joanne is also a faculty affiliate of the Division of Medical Ethics, Department of Population Health, New York University School of Medicine. Among her prior roles, Joanne was responsible for late-stage development in neuroscience, cardiovascular disease and metabolism at Janssen. Before joining Johnson & Johnson in 2002, she headed endocrinology and metabolism clinical research at Merck Research Laboratories, overseeing development programs in atherosclerosis, obesity, diabetes, urology, and dermatology. She was honored with the Key Innovator Award, among other distinctions. Joanne received both the Jonas Salk and Belle Zeller scholarships from the City University of New York, and graduated summa cum laude from Brooklyn College. She graduated cum laude from Harvard Medical School, completed her internship and residency at Beth Israel Hospital and her endocrinology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital. She has received numerous awards and scholarships and is an active scientific author. In 2016, the National Association of Female Executives named her Healthcare Champion of the Year. Joanne combines broad experience in science and medicine with a passion for advancing transparency and ethics, with a goal of improving the lives of patients and consumers worldwide.

Jay Bhatt, Chief Medical Officer, American Hospital Association to Keynote Upcoming Healthcare Providers Transformation Assembly

Jay Bhatt, Chief Medical Officer, American Hospital Association to Keynote

The Millennium Alliance is excited to announce Jay Bhatt, Chief Medical Officer and President, Health Research & Educational Trust at the American Hospital Association will be the Keynote Speaker at the Healthcare Providers Transformation Assembly taking place at The Hutton Hotel in Nashville, TN from May 14-15, 2019.

About Jay Bhatt:

Jay Bhatt is the senior vice president and chief medical officer of the American Hospital Association (AHA), president of HRET and serves on the executive team for the AHA Center for Health Innovation. Most recently, he was the first chief health officer at the Illinois Health & Hospital Association. In this role, he led large improvement projects including the Hospital Engagement Network (HEN), which is aimed at reducing readmissions and hospital-acquired conditions. He has launched several improvement collaboratives, managed the Medical Executive Forum, led the Midwest Alliance for Patient Safety, launched a physician leadership academy, and designed and advanced a statewide high-reliability initiative.

Previously, he was managing deputy commissioner and chief innovation officer for the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH). There he led the implementation of Healthy Chicago — the city’s public health agenda, innovations in cross-sector partnerships, predictive analytics, epidemiology and informatics. He led the department to be internationally and nationally recognized in their approach to using predictive analytics to improve food inspections, chronic disease, West Nile and lead inspections. He also led a groundbreaking initiative with Advocate South Asian Cardiovascular Center in developing the South Asian Healthy Eating Benefits program along with a partnership to reimagine community benefit spending with Presence Health. Under his leadership, the Chicago Department of Public Health was awarded Local Health Department of the Year, and received an award from the National Forum for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention.

He also is a practicing internal medicine physician for Erie Family Health Center in Chicago serving vulnerable populations and is a member of the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern faculty and the University of Michigan Medical School faculty. He graduated from the University of Chicago in 1999 with a degree in economics. In 2008, Dr. Bhatt received both his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and his Master in Public Health degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health. In 2012, he received his Master’s in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government as a Zuckerman Leadership Fellow and Mongan Commonwealth Fund/Harvard Minority Health Policy Fellow. He was a White House Fellows National Finalist in 2013. He is an American College of Physicians Walter McDonald Young Physician Awardee, 40 under 40 health innovator award recognition, and selected to the prestigious Presidential Leadership Scholars Program in 2016. He enjoys exploring Chicago with family and friends including trying different restaurants. He also enjoys teaching dance in the community.
